Integration
Just Whole Care's CEO designed the business case for Medicaid Directors to integrate 0-5/maternal behavioral health, care coordination and parenting support benefits and systems. It's since raised over $85 million (including from MacKenzie Scott), signed Department of Defense contracts to support military families, become Medi-Cal's new 'Dyadic Services' benefit package, and set a course for 1 million at-risk young families to thrive annually by 2032.
Advocacy
Within months of George Floyd's murder, our influential partnership strategy launched the US' premier 911 call diversion program with the Los Angeles Police Department, keeping officers out of mental health crises. We also secured $50 million to scale 988 – today saving hundreds of thousands of lives and connecting many more to mental health and substance use care.
FINANCE
Our policy work helped make Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) screening and response a new California Medicaid benefit, securing over $90 million to train and reimburse providers in low-income communities. JWC guided the California Department of Health Care Services and Office of the California Surgeon General on the US' first statewide investments in trauma-informed networks of care and precision medicine research – over 2 million children, adults, and families have been screened to date through Medi-Cal and counting thanks to Just Whole Care!
